PRINCE Andrew’s accuser Virginia Giuffre tells in a book how she was haunted by images of “greedy, heaving men” who abused her.
Virginia fled paedo Jeffrey Epstein and his lover Ghislaine Maxwell in 2002 but reveals she was still affected years later.
She was in hospital with Covid in 2021 when “enemy trauma” crept up on her, according to excerpts from Nobody’s Girl obtained by The Sun.
She says: “All feelings of sadness and shame overtook me. I was sick of the nightmares; greedy, heaving men on top of me, men whose faces I recognised and would never forget. I felt hollowed out.”
American Virginia settled in Australia in 2002 after meeting and marrying her husband Robert. They went on to have three children.
But in April she committed suicide, with her family saying the “toll of abuse” she had suffered became unbearable.

In the book, co-written before her death with US author Amy Wallace, Virginia reveals she attempted suicide twice before.
She explains: “My brain said, ‘It would be better for everyone if you weren’t here.
“You bring nothing but stress and worry into your husband and children’s lives. Why should they suffer because Jeffrey and Ghislaine caused you pain?
“They deserve better. They will be happier without you. Unconsciousness would be a relief’.”
Virginia adds: “I believed my brain so reached for the painkillers.”
She says she took an overdose but was saved by medics, only to attempt suicide again days after being discharged.
Virginia claims Epstein made threats against her family — and that she lost a baby after becoming pregnant by one abuser.
She had been approached by Maxwell in Florida in 2000 when she was 16 before being abused by the financier and his rich pals.
She says Epstein once showed her a picture of her younger sibling and said: “We know where your brother goes to school.”
And she claims that he added: “You must never tell a soul what goes on in this house.”
Virginia alleges she first had sex with Andrew in March 2001 and twice soon afterwards — claims he has vehemently denied.
Virginia says she suffered “irregular bleeding” after returning to New York from a trip in July 2001.
She says she was “not in great shape” and later woke in a “pool of blood”.
Virginia writes of Epstein taking her to a hospital where he lied to make her appear older, and recalls his whispering to a medic about her care.
She says: “I had a tiny incursion near my belly button, consistent with keyhole surgery for an ectopic pregnancy.
“But Epstein told me I’d had a miscarriage, which is something altogether different.
“The one thing I remember clearly is that, at one point, a doctor told me I might never be able to have children.”
In the book, to be published by Knopf on Tuesday, she is set to add: “Epstein never wore a condom. Neither did the men he and Maxwell trafficked me to.”
Andrew, who has said he does not recall meeting Virginia, paid her millions in an out-of-court settlement in February 2022.
In the book she says the cash was earmarked for her abuse charity, Speak Out, Act, Reclaim.
