Sandra Tavares da Silva, founder of Wine & Soul, received the BPI Entrepreneur 2025 award.
The winemaker was highlighted by the Financial Times as one of the best professionals in the field and is involved in the production of some of the most awarded Portuguese wines.
He has lived in Douro since 1999 and it was there that founded Wine & Soul in 2001together with her husband. The company is dedicated to the production of wines and has a turnover in the order of 2.7 million euros. For this value, Exports make a major contribution, accounting for 80% of total production and allow you to sell to more than 35 countries.
Furthermore, the business stands out for employing the majority of the resident population and for collaborating with social initiatives that support children and young people in the region.
Over the years, Sandra has accumulated a series of distinctions, including the title of Winemaker of the Year. Therefore, he established himself as a figure of great importance in the national wine sector.

In a statement, BPI highlights that, with this distinction, both highlight the journey of female leaders in building successful companieswith traits of innovation, resilience and impact on society.
An objective that results from the collaboration between Caixabank (100% shareholder of BPI) and the International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge (IWEC). The latter is an international network that connects successful women entrepreneurs in various sectors of activity.
