Protect Your Energy Fundraiser benefiting Elle & Mia for Blue Skies

On August 16th, my identical twin daughters, Elle and Mia, were killed by a drunk driver in a head-on collision on their way to a beach vacation. They were killed instantly by a woman who stole a vehicle and drove the wrong way on the interstate. It’s a parent’s worst nightmare and honestly I still can’t believe it’s real. I’ve kept myself busy channeling my grief into action and helping to rally the community around healing. I’m grateful to this community for honoring the three girls with a town Celebration of Life with a message from the Mayor, remembrance from friends and family and a fireworks show. Additionally several local businesses supported our families with fundraisers and special events. Neighbors, some I barely know, stepped up to provide meals, pray, lend an ear, rally support… I’ve come to realize that the only way I’m surviving this is through the support and love of my community. Right now, more than ever, connection to my people, is what’s going to get me through. That’s why in memory of the kindest girls in the world, I’m establishing Elle & Mia for Blue Skies, a community for feeling and healing from life’s tragedies. Everyone should have a community of support when it comes to getting through the absolute worst days of your life and that’s what this foundation will provide. I’ll be embarking on a capital campaign towards finding or building a home for Elle & Mia for Blue Skies.

Our first fundraiser: Protect Your Energy was designed by Elle three days before she was killed. A local t-shirt business printed a supply prior to their Celebration of Life and hundreds of kids and adults showed up wearing her original design. Now you can have one of your very own.
