Central Indiana Regional Development Authority (CIRDA) held a confirmatory vote today to name Jennifer C. Messer as the group’s first Executive Director. As Executive Director, Messer will progress the vision and execution of programs led by the regional group.

“Central Indiana is an economic engine for the state, and I am excited to work with elected leaders across the area to identify funding sources and deliver projects that benefit residents throughout CIRDA’s member communities,” said Messer. “CIRDA represents fifteen diverse central Indiana communities that are collectively focused on harnessing resources to better serve the entire area. Working together there are abundant available resources that CIRDA can obtain to fund transformational projects throughout the area.”

With almost two decades of municipal and governmental law and political experience, Messer brings a unique perspective and credibility to navigating the nexus between government and business to drive results. Messer has been integral to transformational development project throughout Indiana that represent well more than $1 billion dollars of private investment in Indiana, thousands of new jobs and a plethora of new retail and restaurant amenities.

Messer has donated her time and expertise to several nonprofits, including serving as the Secretary of the Washington Tennis Education Foundation, a Washington D.C. based non-profit that uses tennis to transform lives in one of the District’s most underserved communities and hosts the annual Citi Open, an ATP 500 event; President of the Congressional Club where she organized its Museum and Foundation; and Board Chair of Girls, Inc. of Shelby County.
