The 5K for Dyslexia is a family friendly 5K run/walk benefitting a local non-profit that will help children with dyslexia in our community. One hundred percent of all proceeds will be given to teachers and tutors in our Fishers community that would like to be trained in the Orton Gillingam approach, to help children with dyslexia and other struggling readers. Orton Gillingham is an evidence based, best in class, reading approach that helps all readers. However, it normally costs anywhere between $600 to $5,000 per person to achieve this certification. Our goal is to provide full funding for teachers and tutors in our community to support struggling readers.
Our inaugural run/walk will take place at 8AM on Saturday, October 7th in downtown Fishers. Runners, walkers, strollers and participants of all ages and abilities are welcome. All participants will recieve an official 5K for Dyslexia medal and custom t-shirt. Join us, have fun, and make a difference!
