To me, fall is the most romantic time of year, with the transition from long warm summer nights to cool crisp air, nature’s explosion of color adding beautiful scenery, and irresistibly delicious smells coming from seasonal foods.
Fall is also the uptick of busy schedules. This makes it the perfect time to slow down and grab your someone special to make fun memories on a dating adventure! Here are 8 fun ideas to add some spice to your autumnal date night around Fishers.
1. Take A Stroll
Fishers offers over 130 miles of nature and multi-use trails; with the combination of cooler weather and gorgeous fall scenery, this is the makings of a perfect date. Fall is my favorite time to get out to walk these assorted trails. My husband and I love grabbing a drink from Geist Coffee Company, The Well, or Schoolhouse 7 Cafe before heading out on a leisurely pace taking in the scenery and conversation. So grab a sweater, a delicious drink, and your sweetie to walk on the many trails Fishers has to offer.
2. Scavenger Love Hunt
Who doesn’t love the thrill of a scavenger hunt? This adult version of a treasure hunt adds a bit of fun as you or your sweetie try to figure out each clue. This romantic twist on the typical game can be anything from recreating your first date, favorite spots you love as a couple, or random locations important to either of you.
This is a fun date, as you can complete each task as a couple (remember, a date scavenger hunt is not about speed, but having fun as you enjoy each other along the way!).
3. Cheers To Love!
As the weather cools, it’s perfect for sitting on the patio of Fishers’ newest tasting room, Peace Water Winery. This new-to-Fishers winery has “local roots and California wines”, and with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, there’s something for everyone!
Throughout the fall, Peace Water Winery will be hosting live music most Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, which makes for a perfect date night. Besides they’re delicious wines, one thing I absolutely love about Peace Water Winery is it’s a winery with a cause, 8 to be exact! Each of their children have picked a social cause to which they donate 50% of their profits.
4. Date Night In
If going out isn’t what you’re looking for, try a date night in! This is a great way to relax while still having fun with your special someone. One of my favorite date night in themes is creating a tasting party for two. With a delicious charcuterie board from Board & You paired with wine, beer, or unique soda choices, this is a fun twist on the classic tasting evening.
Whether it’s eating takeout by candle light, playing board games or video games, backyard firepit smores, or watching a movie while snuggling on the couch; these ideas are all the makings of a perfect date night in!
5. Couples Who Play Together, Stay Together!
Another fun date idea is adding a little spice to date night by getting competitive! Some fun ideas around Fishers include pickleball at Cyntheanne Park, Topgolf, bowling at PinHeads, or an adrenaline rush at K1 Speed Racing! You can’t go wrong with any of these fun dating adventures and getting in touch with your inner child.
6. Stroll the Farmers’ Market
A fun twist on the typical night is a morning out! Strolling hand in a hand at the Fishers Farmers’ Market is a favorite of mine. With the combination of shopping and delicious, locally produced food and music, what’s not to like! At the Farmer’s Market, I love strolling through the booths discovering all the local goodies.
Another Farmers’ Market day date favorite is eating breakfast from one of the many local vendors featured at the market.
7. Take a Trip Back in Time
Though many think of Conner Prairie as a family destination, it’s also perfect for a date night. A Conner Prairie date favorite for my husband and I is the Headless Horseman, which runs every weekend in October and includes a haunted hayride, midway, corn maze, and so much more!
